Most know of the YouTube sensation Jackie Ania as Jackie...Jackie...Jackie...Jackie on repeat. Jackie Ania studied medicine in college but later decided to join the United States Army Reserve. While she was stationed in Hawaii, she realized she had a passion for cosmetics and was hired by MAC Cosmetics. According to Entrepreneur, “Aina kept getting told at makeup counters that the trends she wanted to try wouldn't work for her complexion, and so she started creating videos about the products and looks she loved that could work for anyone"
Jackie Ania is an advocate for African American women in the cosmetic industry. She pushes boundaries in order for companies to produce more shades for dark skin women. This has caused her to lose a few major business collaborations but she feels there should be a fair balance of representation for all women. Jackie Aina expressed her opinion that a foundation product by cosmetic brand Too Faced did not feature enough shades for dark skin women. Too Faced announced a collaboration with her to expand the shade range of its Born This Way Foundation.
Jackie has over 2 million YouTube subscribers and over 200 million viewers. At the 49th NAACP Image Awards, Jackie Aina won the NAACP Image Award for "YouTuber of the Year".
